Winchester Pride 2026

Winchesters first Pride March was held on sunny Sunday 10 June 2026. It kicked off outside the Guildhall with a couple of drag queens and two guys reciting Shakespear. A DJ and some happy party music would have trumped the bard, but hey this is Winchester! Our city MP Danny Chambers and the Liberal City Council’s Leader Martin Tod and Mayor Sudhakar Achwal, the 826th Mayor Winchester, all spoke from the Guildhall steps.

It was happy afternoon with a great atmosphere of love and friendship. The procession around the city centre was well recieved, especially from families outside the pubs and restaurants. Hopefully this will be the first of many and I look forward to the next.
